“Spirituality in matter”, on the Madonie from 8 to 11 August meditations, contemporary art, Tibetan art artefacts and the chance to witness the creation of a Mandala. An initiative in support of the Sangha Onlus Association Lhungtok Choekhorling Buddhist Monastery in Pomaia Villa Sant’Andrea, in Petralia Sottana, in the Madonie Park, will host “Spirituality in Matter” from 8 to 11 August, an art, spirituality and social project, conceived by Tiziana Serretta, Nadia Speciale and Gandolfo Brancato, realised in collaboration with and in support of the Associazione Sangha Onlus Lhungtok Choekhorling Buddhist Monastery in Pomaia, Pisa.
The name of the monastery was given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and in Italian can be translated as ‘Place where the teaching is transmitted and realised’.
Four days dedicated to many initiatives, from meditation to the creation of a Mandala, the painting of a monolith and the exhibition of those already painted, exhibitions of books dedicated to the themes of meditation by the Chiara Luce publishing house, Tibetan artefacts, and the screening of Franco Battiato’s docu-film ‘Crossing the Bardo’, presented by Fabio Bagnasco.
The cultural initiative proposes Tibet as a symbol linked to the value of human rights, providing food for thought on how Tibetan refugees, scattered all over the world, have not only worked for the survival of their culture, but how their knowledge has enriched cultures all over the world. Remembering the words of the Dalai Lama: ‘We are part of one family: Humanity’. Among the activities, mantras for nature and meditation guided by Sarano also displayed some handmade clothes, using vegetable fibres and dyes, as Tiziana Serretta explains:
The ‘Spirituality in Matter’ project, already hosted at the Salone del Mobile Milano in the Bentley/Bugatti stand, will be presented on 6 September at the UN by Tiziana Serretta, based on the 2030 Agenda in New York.
